Having played Champions Online since early beta, I got a good insight into the game long before the official Champions Online release date. I usually try to approach MMORPGs from a speed-leveling point of view, trying to get characters to the level cap as quick as possible. While some might argue that I am missing out on a lot of lore this way, for me the interesting part about those games is the challenge to beat their inherent system of time sinks. After all, MMOs – and Champions Online is no exception – are designed to keep you busy as long as possible, since the longer you play, the more you pay. Beating that inherent design is what I consider the most intersting challenge in those kind of games.
